Stuck Between Stations

Traveling as much as I do I get a sense on living untethered at times. My laptop as a constant companion is probably the only thing that keeps me sane with the flights delays, layovers and other detours. It’s become a lifeline with e-mails, family photos, videos and other files to remind of where home is. There are tons of MP3s of Springsteen, Zevon, Kinks, Rolling Stones and a younger band I’ve gotten into, The Hold Steady. I guess a personal computer didn’t really become personal until you could fold it up, add parts of your life to it and travel with it. My laptop is coming up on a year and that’s usually the lifespan for one with me. I see shopping research on my event horizon. I’d really like the MacBook Air and the I’m leaning more towards it. Then I start to thing that the BluRay player and recorder would be boost to personal projects and movie watching. The has started ticking.

This morning while getting situated to leave from point A to point B we grabbed a quick Big Mac, real healthy. One of the guys in our group was excited Monopoly was back. I’m all for winning a $1 million, but with 1 in 591,287,650 odds it’s not likely going to happen. A person has better odds on the Powerball and wouldn’t clog their arteries. I love to have a chance to prove people wrong that winning millions wouldn’t change me.
