Twenty One Days Left, Then We Can Get to Serious Matters

Looking at the countdown on the Presidential race we’ve got 21 days left until we start into the recount season. I can’t wait for it all to end and we can start complaining about a administration. But all this is just this practice laps for the big event.

In case you didn’t know this already just ask a kid, we’re just 72 days away from Christmas. Maybe the season will end the year on a up swing. The way the stock market bounced back like Flubber today it might just be a good season for weary merchants. Black Friday is the event that sets things in motion for the year.

I had an e-mail over the weekend from Wal Mart that in short said if I got wind in advance of the Black Friday sales I could not publish anything about without consequences. Sounds like they might be pulling out all the stops for the year. Every year I say I’m not going to try to wake up early, stand in the cold and swim through a sea a shoppers. Then someone mentions something they saw in an ad that they want and I’m out in cold a 4 a.m. thinking I should never allow a newspaper in the house on Thanksgiving.

If I was to guess on some of the sales coming I’d say we’ll see $199 laptops, under $250 Xbox packages, $50 GPS and probably a 35 inch flat screen for $300 for the door busters scattered all the stores.
