KITT Meet Canon
While we’ve got a car on the television show Knight Rider that understands the voice commands from it’s driver, we’re about to see a camera that can take verbal instructions from the photographer. ShutterVoice is getting ready to release a software package for the Canon EOS digital SLR line.
It going to be interesting to see how well this application will preform. One of the largest obstacles I see is that everyone calls the steps they take in image processing something completely from the next person. There will have to be an ‘education’ of the end users on the proper instruction names.
The next will be the different accents of each user. Some dictation software packages have a utility to train the software to understand the voice of a user.
The software s going to rob clock cycles fro, the processor to run the software. Will people be willing to give up speed just for the convenience of voice operations?
The final thing will be that when I get frustrated with my camera, I tend to tell to go to remote places.
