Has Your Twitter Got the Worms?

At about time to get the Gizmo the cat and Chloe the pup worm medicine I find out I may have to do the same for my Twitter account (feel free to add me).

First I saw the message from Twitter’s Spam monitor:

The StalkDaily issue making the rounds appears to be under control now. Thanks for all of your messages! @spam A must follow

Luckily I haven’t been hit with the problem. Hat’s off to Twitter to being proactive enough to make everyone aware of the problem. One thing I did find today was a website that showed up first for the “Mufreesboro Tornado” from Belgium. When you click the link the page you go to will redirect to an infected page with a virus. Some days it pays to run on Linux. The Country Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) is .be, so be cautious clicking on any link where the domain ends with .be (i.e. http://www.riskyclicking.be), your computer might turn into a Zombie.

If you are interested in the StalkDaily problem on Twitter you can TechCrunch has a detailed post. There was a post about a “proof-of-concept” that this or something worse could happen in post at ReadWriteWeb.com back in March of this year. This weekend might be a good time to make sure your virus protection is up-to-date this weekend.
