A Truck for the Daughter

My daughter hates my truck. Politely she says it’s been around as long she can remember and that I’m ready for something new. When I pick her up in my sweet 1990 Dodge Ram 50, she quickly enters, puts on her sunglasses and puts her right hand between her face and any on coming traffic and says she doesn’t like to be seen in my “ugly truck”.

My parents gave me a 1976 A.M.C. Pacer when I was a teenage. I am immune to ridicule and shame in the automobile department.
The truck is a year or two older than my beautiful 17-year-old daughter and it could use a paint job, but I’m more comfortable in that truck than anything else I’ve driven in the last 20 years. It’s now beauty, but it dependable, fast enough for me and gets great gas mileage. Prices seem to be going up again. The little Mopar has taken me cross-country, seen me through a divorce and few other milestones. I would be hard pressed to sell it or trade it in for a new one. I may have it converted into a casket when I die. I love my ugly truck.
Tonight I found an e-mail my baby girl sent me that was buried in my spam filter. In it she was dropping hints for an automobile. If you’ve ever been 17 you know car hint when you read it or hear it. I would like to buy her a new car, the economy will have to get better. Then by the magic of the Internet I found just the perfect vehicle for her. A Mahindra Gio.
The Gio is a product of India that will be hitting the crowded streets of that country soon with a street price of Rs 1.65 lakh, $4,125 U.S. (if my calculation is right). I don’t think the little Gio will road ready for the U.S. anytime soon, but I think girl would look fantastic behind the wheel of that little demon.

I guess at this price it’s a total value for money,
Gio sure is going to set the trend in its category as it’s the first of its kind.
The price will put this truck in a lot of driveways for sure. I still have not seen when and if the Gio will be in America yet.
