Peek Pokes Out a Twitter Only Device
Peek and Amazon answered the age old question “What to get INSERT YOUR HARD TO BUY FOR PERSON HERE for Christmas?”
Today Peek launched the TwitterPeek as a portable and affordable alternative to the smart phone to have Twitter on the go. Amazon is exclusively selling the $99.99 for the TwitterPeek with 6 months service or get the same unit with lifetime service for $199.95.
Peek has gone for the millions of Twitter who do not have a smart phone and want to stay up to date. The byproduct of the Twitterpeek is creation a new market with prepaid social media device. Can we expect a FacebookPeek in the near future?
I would not discount the device (or the market). While it may only function on the Twitter service there are millions of people who want only stay connected with Twitter. This is just my opinion, but I feel the TwitterPeek will gain a strong following like the The Flip in the YouTube crowd.
I’ve got two teenagers that have their own cell phones, but rarely do they use the phones for actual voice calls, it’s all about the text in their universe. They are slowly migrating onto Twitter and I think after more of their friends do texting may lose ground with them and other teens.
