For Americans, Thanksgiving is a holiday we use to reflect and count all the things we are thankful that come into our lives.

This Thanksgiving weekend has been busy for me with all the day-to-day things, preparing for the rest of the holiday season and looking at other opportunities. Having the extra time let the thoughts stew on my mind brought me around to the fact that I’ve got a lot to be thankful for. We all can take the Glass is Half Full frame of mind to find more positives than negatives in our world.

Thanksgiving Trivia

The first person to wish me Happy Thanksgiving this year was Daniel Xie. A young man from China via Facebook.

There is one universal claim each of us can make is that we are thankful for the people in our lives. They keep us grounded and serve as reminders about the journey we’ve taken up to this point.

When the world was round we would drift over the horizon out of sight from our friends, old schoolmates and former coworkers.  The way we use the Internet and social networks today, the globe has flattened to give us  a clear view of each other’s lives and become grounded once again.

In 2009, more people than ever took to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media than ever before to reconnect and extend their network. We all should be thankful for this new layer that grown on top of the Internet.
